Amber 07
Floral-oriental eau de parfum for men and women · amber, dates, cinnamon, rose, orris root, ylang-ylang, incense, sandalwood, patchouli, and vanilla
Amber from the very first second, accompanied by dates and cinnamon: an oriental fragrance that makes its presence known right away, without waiting for the base notes to emerge, then unfolds into a floral heart and woody incense.
Amber 07 by Swiss Arabian: an oriental floral fragrance with notes of dates and incense
From Swiss Arabian, a UAE-based brand manufactured in Sharjah, Amber 07 is a unisex oriental floral eau de parfum launched in 2021, available in a 50 ml size and listed under barcode 6295124036774. Its fragrance pyramid features ten notes: top notes of amber, dates, and cinnamon; middle notes of rose, orris root, and ylang-ylang; and base notes of incense, sandalwood, patchouli, and vanilla. Its main accords are, in order, amber, warm spice, woody, sweet, and balsamic. The composition is credited to perfumer Paul Guerlain, who works at IFF and has no affiliation with the House of Guerlain. Fragrantica rates it 4.3 out of 5 based on 88 votes, with a longevity of 7 hours and a sillage described as strong. Available as an authentic fragrance at Parfumerie de Dubai.
Amber upon opening
Most people from the East save amber for last. Amber 07 puts it in the lead, which changes the entire experience: the fragrance doesn’t reveal itself—it announces itself. Amber arrives accompanied by two notes that move in the same direction, the dates and the cinnamon. The first notes bring a dry, candied, and slightly caramelized sweetness; the second, an immediate spicy warmth. It is from this trio that the second and fourth flavor profiles noted by the community emerge: warm spice and sweetness.
The heart offers a floral interlude amid this density. The rose and theylang-ylang add sparkle, but it's the iris root which does the real work: powdery, slightly earthy, and buttery, it balances the sweetness of the opening and prevents the fragrance from veering into the gourmand category. It is this note that justifies its classification as an oriental fragrance floral rather than as pure amber.
The base note draws on the heritage of Gulf perfumery with four ingredients: the’incense resinous and smoky, the sandalwood creamy, the patchouli earthy and the vanilla. Incense explains the fifth chord, the balsamic. In the store, it comes as a pair with Amber 01, same brand, same year, and same bottle: one has a woody note where amber takes a back seat, while this one is a pure amber scent, spicier and sweeter.

Performance and Portability
These ratings are based on votes from the Fragrantica community and not on laboratory measurements. With notes of amber and cinnamon right from the start, the fragrance makes an immediate impression: two sprays These are enough—the wrists and the base of the neck—and it’s best to wait a few minutes before judging it, giving the iris root time to mellow the opening notes. It’s best suited for the cold season and the evening. On a scarf or a coat collar, incense and patchouli last significantly longer than on the skin.

Bottle design
The bottle is a rectangular glass block thick, identical in shape to that of Amber 01: the collection is recognizable by its silhouette, and it is the number printed on the front that distinguishes the individual items. The fragrance is a translucent amber-red, thick and warm.
The name "AMBER 07" and the "SWISS ARABIAN" signature are printed in clear, unadorned letters. The carved stopper metal rose gold, featuring an openwork scroll design, remains the object’s only decorative element and visually ties it to the rest of the line.
Swiss Arabian's Amber 07 FAQ
Is Paul Guerlain connected to the Guerlain company?
No, and it’s easy to get confused. Paul Guerlain is a perfumer at IFF, one of the world’s leading fragrance houses, where he was trained in New York. Fragrantica credits him with nearly fifty creations for brands such as Rabanne, Christian Louboutin, Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Dries Van Noten, and Amouage. No source links him to the House of Guerlain or to Jean-Paul Guerlain: he is simply a namesake.
What does the date note smell like in perfumery?
This is a reconstructed note that seeks to evoke dried fruit rather than fresh fruit: a dense, candied sweetness, a slightly leathery facet, and an almost caramelized base. It is rare in Western perfumery but common in Gulf compositions, where dates are part of daily life and hospitality. Paired here with amber and cinnamon, it gives the opening its gourmand character without the sweetness of pastries.
What is iris root?
It is not the flower but the rhizome—that is, the root—of the Iris pallida. It must be left to dry for several years before it can be used, making it one of the most expensive ingredients in the palette. Its scent is not floral at all: it is powdery, buttery, slightly earthy, and fresh. In Amber 07, it counterbalances the sweetness of the opening notes.
What is a balsamic accord?
The word comes from “balms,” those thick resins that certain trees produce in response to damage to their bark: benzoin, Peruvian balsam, frankincense, and myrrh. Their scent is warm, sweet, slightly vanilla-like, and faintly smoky. This is the historical signature of Gulf perfumery, and in Amber 07 it comes from the base note of frankincense, which forms the fifth accord identified by the community.
Amber 01 or Amber 07: Which one should you choose?
Both were released the same year, by the same brand, in the same bottle, but they tell different stories. Amber 01 is primarily a woody fragrance: cedar and cashmere wood take precedence over amber, with a rose at its heart and a peppery opening. Amber 07 features amber as the opening accord, right from the top notes, with dates, cinnamon, and a base of incense. The former is drier and more floral; the latter is warmer, spicier, and sweeter.
Why does the same part number appear on both cases?
The packaging for Amber 01 and Amber 07 both bear the code REF 1080. This is therefore a product line code shared by the entire collection, not a unique identifier for each fragrance. What formally distinguishes the two references is the barcode: 6295124036781 for Amber 01 and 6295124036774 for Amber 07. This is the number you should check if you have any doubts about a bottle.
