The Amethyst Digestif: A Liqueur Cut Like a Gemstone
The service begins at the bar: a amaretto bittersweet almond, a rum amber, which the company describes as having a captivating warmth, and a mandarin A sparkling cocktail that bursts with vibrant citrus. It’s the booziest opening in the Lattafa menu: two liqueurs and a flame, served in purple crystal.
Next comes the title’s fusion: the’amber background with a caramel dark and decadent while the patchouli pulls the whole composition toward earthiness and shadow, just enough to keep the dessert’s bite. A Parfumo enthusiast praises the result with a phrase worthy of a medal: It had been a long time since Lattafa had surprised me, as this amber, powdery, and spicy scent lingers.
The final layer of color envelops the liqueur for the night: a vanilla creamy, a sandalwood creamy and a benzoin Resinous and balsamic—the warm, creamy, and long-lasting scent promised by the brand. “A bold sophistication with a luxurious, indulgent twist,” says its official description: the word “fusion” isn’t just for show—everything here is blended, intertwined, and refined.
In this family setting, the violet gem joins two older sisters already on display in the shop: the triumphant gold of Bade’e Al Oud: Honor & Glory and the powdery pink of Bade’e Al Oud Noble Blush. Gold, rose, amethyst: the collection comes in a jewelry box, and each stone has its own character.

Bottle design
The Bade’e Al Oud collection has made its bottle its hallmark, and the amethyst edition showcases it in deep purple: glass gem-colored matte, matching steel hood, and this rose gold jewelry plate Art Deco-style inlay covering the entire front panel.
In the center, the diamond-shaped medallion set with green stones It features the calligraphy “بديع العود”: “The Wonder of the Oud,” spelled out in full. A specialized blog calls it the brand’s “statement bottle”: sitting on a dresser, it indeed looks less like a perfume and more like a piece of jewelry.

Performance & sensations
Fragrantica's initial figures set the stage: 4,4 / 5 Of the thirteen inaugural addresses, approximately 8 hours long-lasting and a distinctive scent enormous, the highest category on the barometer. The composition follows the signature style of Lattafa’s deep-sea fragrances: the top notes sparkle and blaze for the first hour, followed by a caramel-patchouli blend that reigns with an amber, powdery, and spicy aura, and finally, the vanilla-sandalwood-benzoin base note lingers until late into the night.
His kingdom is that of the cool evenings : Autumn-winter in all its glory—dinners, parties, and gatherings where a generous trail of scent is a compliment; a specialist reviewer notes that it cuts through the cold air effortlessly. Unapologetically unisex despite the collection’s masculine reputation, with notes of liqueur and caramel gracing every wrist: two sprays are more than enough—the gem does the rest.
FAQ: Bade’e Al Oud Amethyst Fusion
What does the Bade’e Al Oud Amethyst Fusion perfume smell like?
That of a premium digestif served in crystal: almond amaretto and amber rum flambéed with mandarin on the nose, a decadent fusion of amber, dark caramel, and patchouli at the heart, followed by a creamy finish of vanilla, sandalwood, and balsamic benzoin. Boozy, indulgent, oriental: a dessert for grown-ups, with just the right edge to keep it from being cloying.
Which perfume is Amethyst Fusion a dupe for?
Fragrantica’s reviewers highlight a cult fragrance from the high-end Italian niche market, named after cinema’s most famous godfather and sold at a price that’s simply too good to pass up. Connoisseurs offer nuanced opinions among themselves: the original is said to be syrupier and denser; but more than a few swear they won’t buy it again now that it comes in the amethyst version. Taken on its own merits, they say, it’s superb—and you don’t argue with family.
Is there really oud in Amethyst Fusion?
No, and let’s be frank: there’s no oud note in the fragrance profile; an expert observer has even pointed out that this was a deliberate choice by the house—one made for a collection that now appeals to Western tastes as well. Bade’e Al Oud, “the wonder of the oud,” is a family name here: the Eastern spirit remains, carried by patchouli, benzoin, and amber, but the star of this edition is definitely the caramel liqueur, not the precious wood.
What does amaretto smell like in perfumery?
It’s the quintessential Italian almond liqueur: a sweetness of toasted almonds and apricot pits, with a hint of bitterness, somewhere between festive marzipan and a glass served after dinner. Rarely used as the top note in a fragrance, it gives Amethyst Fusion its uniquely distinctive opening: indulgent without being childish, alcoholic without being harsh, it makes it clear from the start that this dessert is meant for adults.
What is the value of Lattafa's Bade’e Al Oud collection?
It’s one of the brand’s most iconic lines: coat-of-arms-inspired bottles with gold-plated plaques, rich fragrances, and global hits. In the boutique, amethyst joins the triumphant gold of Honor & Glory and the powdery pink of Noble Blush: three stones, three distinct personalities, ranging from sunny and radiant to velvety smooth, all the way to this new boozy-caramel scent. A jewelry box where everyone can find their own gem.
