Qahwa as a Perfume
Throughout the Gulf, hospitality begins with a cup of qahwa: a light-roasted coffee infused with cardamom, often gilded with a thread of saffron. The opening of Beyond Me follows the same formula to a T: fresh, camphor-like cardamom; vibrant, leathery saffron;, pink pepper with a sparkle—and it’s a very fitting touch for a Kuwaiti home: the fragrance welcomes you just as you’re welcomed into the majlis.
The heart serves the entire tour: the coffee himself, tanned and dark, a caramel a melt-in-your-mouth texture reminiscent of the candied dates featured on the gourmet label, and a coconut milk Creamy, softening the bitterness like a cloud of milk. The community knows what it’s talking about: warm spice, caramel, sweetness, coffee, and coconut are the five flavors it detects—the full menu of a coffee shop.
The background sets the duration: a sandalwood creamy, a patchouli earthy notes that enhance the richness, and a cistus A resinous scent with amber and slightly animalic notes—the essence that elevates this dessert to the realm of the great Oriental fragrances. It lasts eight hours and leaves a strong trail: the cup is small, but the hospitality is long-lasting.
Among the new Gissah items in the store, it’s arriving alongside’Emarati Imperial, the brand’s other launch: at the Imperial, a grand statement; at Beyond Me, the warmth of shared coffee. Two faces of the Gulf, fresh off the boat from Kuwait.

Bottle design
The bottle matches the color of its subject: a cylinder with fine vertical ridges, filled with a golden Chartreuse juice, somewhere between saffron oil and green tea in the sun, topped with a domed, fluted hood Matching, in the shape of an oriental dome. In the center, the four-lobed GISSAH medallion, with “BEYOND ME” engraved at the bottom.
The Signature Collection case wraps everything in a pure gold, featuring Arabic calligraphy at the top and bilingual text, proudly stating its origin in full: Made in Kuwait. A generous product, just like its 200-ml size: hospitality isn’t something you serve in small samples.

Gissah's Beyond Me FAQ
What does "Beyond Me" mean?
Beyond Myself: an invitation to push one’s limits, in the spirit of the aspirational names celebrated by Gissah’s Signature Collection. The pyramid offers a generous interpretation of this concept: drawing from the Gulf’s most intimate tradition—the spiced coffee of hospitality—and pushing it beyond its boundaries, toward notes of caramel, coconut, and rich oriental woods. A daily ritual transformed into a fragrance of character.
What is qahwa, the recipe for which Beyond Me features?
Traditional Gulf coffee, a cornerstone of hospitality: a light coffee, steeped for a long time with a generous amount of cardamom, often enriched with saffron, served in small cups and refilled as long as the guest remains. The opening notes of Beyond Me capture this scene perfectly—cardamom, saffron, and a hint of pepper—before the heart notes introduce roasted coffee and sweet notes. For a Kuwaiti brand, it’s hard to imagine a more authentic signature.
What is rockrose?
A Mediterranean shrub whose resin, labdanum, is one of the oldest ingredients in perfumery: amber-like, balsamic, slightly leathery, and animalic, it lies at the heart of most of the great amber accords in history. In Beyond Me, rockrose provides a mature counterbalance: it anchors the caramel and coconut in a deep oriental register, preventing the gourmand notes from feeling like mere pastry.
Is Beyond Me a very sweet fragrance?
It’s frankly indulgent—caramel and coconut milk take center stage—but the composition balances out each sweetness: cardamom and pink pepper add a light, airy touch to the opening, coffee brings its roasted bitterness, and the base note trio of sandalwood, patchouli, and rockrose pulls the whole composition toward a distinctive oriental character rather than something overly sweet. Expect a gourmet coffee perfect for the living room—elegantly sweet—not a dessert that leaves your fingers sticky.
What is Gissah's Signature Collection?
The Kuwaiti house’s line of gold-cased fragrances, recognizable by its large 200-ml sizes and ribbed bottles featuring a four-lobed medallion: perfumes designed as personal signatures, generous in both concentration and volume. Beyond Me joins the creations that have earned Gissah its reputation among perfume enthusiasts in the Gulf: the high standards of Kuwaiti perfumery, delivered in abundance.
Is Beyond Me a good gift idea?
One of the safest bets on the shelf: the coffee-caramel flavor is a crowd-pleaser; the unisex design ensures it’s the right gift for anyone; the 200-ml size makes the gift feel generously sized right away; and the Signature Collection’s gold box makes an impression even before it’s opened. Give it to foodies who want to take their indulgence to the next level, or to anyone who hosts a lot: it’s literally the scent of hospitality.
