Passion on Ice
Hawas means “passion” or “obsession” in Arabic; Ice is its frozen version. The opening is a granita: a apple crisp green, a Italian lemon and a Sicilian bergamot with premier cru zest, and a Chinese star anise, star anise, which gives the whole drink a hint of licorice. Fruity and citrusy—the two flavors the community notices first—served at 0 degrees.
The heart note adds black fruit and floral notes: a plum juicy, which adds a sweet note, a orange blossom clean and solar, and a cardamom which refreshes the spice rather than warming it. It’s this layer that sets Hawas Ice apart from ordinary fresh waters: fruit, flowers, and always that coolness.
The background is a beach in the early morning: a driftwood bleached by salt, a foam green and damp, a musk clean and a amber Light notes that carry the fragrance for a full eight hours, with a strong sillage—the signature of the original Hawas preserved in this icy version. A freshness that lasts like an oriental fragrance: the reason for its 8,000 votes.
In the store, he teams up with Hersh 55° From Al Ezz Oud, the duo of refreshing scents: one features Saudi grapefruit and vetiver, designed for the heat wave; the other, Hawas Ice, features icy apple and plum from Dubai. Two scents, the same promise of long-lasting freshness.

Bottle design
The bottle echoes the silhouette of the original Hawas, with rounded shoulders and thick glass, in a shade shaded in blue, frosted lavender at the top, navy at the base, like an ice cube seen against the light. HAWAS appears in white capital letters beneath its Arabic calligraphy, For Him and ICE Below that, Rasasi's full signature.
Visit white ribbed hood, like a roll of crushed ice, replaces the original’s dark cap. Understated yet instantly recognizable on a shelf of perfumes in Dubai: Hawas blue has become a color in its own right.

Performance & sensations
4.4 out of 5 based on 8,030 votes : Few Gulf fragrances have garnered such a large number of reviews on Fragrantica, and even fewer have maintained such a high rating. Hawas Ice is a phenomenon, and the metrics explain why: lasts about 8 hours and a strong wake, an oriental scent for a summer fragrance, thanks to the amber, musk, and driftwood in the base notes.
His kingdom is the big day, worn extensively, especially in summer and spring: at the office, during sports, on outdoor patios, and on sunny vacations—with enough staying power for a night at the beach. Two sprays are enough, thanks to its strong sillage; intended for men, “For Him” is one of those fresh scents that many women borrow—and few give back.
Rasasi Hawas Ice FAQ
What does "Hawas Ice" mean?
In Arabic, “Hawas” means passion, obsession, that which holds you captive; it’s also the name of Rasasi’s original Hawas, one of the best-selling fragrances from the Dubai-based perfumery. Ice is its icy variation: same bottle, same aquatic and fruity spirit, but with apple, star anise, and driftwood that bring the temperature down by several degrees. Passion, freezer-style.
What role does the apple play in perfumery?
The crispness: the apple note, recreated using green fruity molecules, evokes the juicy, slightly tart flesh of a freshly cut green apple, with that refreshing sensation on the teeth that no citrus fruit can provide. Having become the signature opening note for fresh men’s fragrances since the 2000s, it is treated here as a granita, blended with Italian citrus fruits and star anise: the fruit that makes Hawas Ice a fragrance you recognize the very first second.
What is star anise?
Star anise: the star-shaped fruit of a tree native to southern China, whose essential oil smells of licorice, anise, and fennel, with an almost minty freshness. In men’s fragrances, it cools down fruity top notes and prevents them from becoming too sweet: this is exactly its role in Hawas Ice, where it transforms apple and citrus notes into a slush rather than juice.
What does the term "driftwood" refer to?
A fusion of imagination, as its name suggests: driftwood is wood washed ashore by the sea, bleached by salt and sun, and this note recreates its scent—a dry, bright, and slightly salty woody aroma, without the warmth of cedar or the softness of sandalwood. Together with the damp sea foam that accompanies it, it gives the base note of Hawas Ice its early-morning beach setting and its staying power: it’s a woody note, so it lingers.
Why is Hawas Ice so popular?
Because it solves the age-old problem with fresh fragrances: longevity. 8,030 votes and a 4.4 out of 5 rating—these are the numbers for a fragrance that thousands of men have worn all summer long and found to be up to par, thanks to its recognizable apple sorbet scent, its eight-hour longevity, and its strong sillage—all for a price typical of a Dubai perfume shop. The recipe for a contemporary classic—and probably the safest fresh fragrance to give to a man you don’t know very well.
