Petra Viola
Floral oriental fragrance for women · pink pepper, raspberry, violet, lily of the valley, cotton candy, jasmine, sandalwood, cedar, and musk
Powdery violet meets raspberry and cotton candy in Petra’s new flanker: a playful, sweet floral oriental, grounded in soft woody notes.
The violet, reinvented as a chic carnival treat
Petra Viola by Lattafa Perfumes opens with a trio that sets the tone: the pink pepper sparkles, the raspberry crunch, and the violet It unfolds its instantly recognizable powdery signature, somewhere between old-fashioned candy and a vintage powder compact. The opening is lively, fruity, and slightly spicy: violet isn’t treated as a melancholic flower but as a modern confection, spiced just enough to avoid seeming naive.
The heart then fully embraces its indulgence: the cotton candy envelops the composition in a sweet, wispy cloud, while the lily of the valley and the jasmine They add a floral freshness that keeps the overall scent from becoming purely sweet. That’s the balance of the fragrance: one foot at the carnival, the other in a flower-filled garden, with an ethereal lightness reminiscent of pink tulle.
The background finally adds some structure: the sandalwood creamy, the cedar dry and the musk Its delicate, lingering scent keeps the skin fragrant for hours on end without ever feeling heavy. Petra Viola is for women who love playful, eye-catching feminine fragrances: those who adore rich violet notes and sweet, powdery sillage will find a signature scent that is instantly captivating.
Petra Viola is the flanker for Petra de Lattafa, whose iconic sculpted bottle he has reimagined, adorning it with pink. The fragrance is created by Alex Lee, a perfumer whose other creations you can find in our store.

Bottle design
The Petra Viola bottle is one of the most romantic in the Lattafa catalog. Its domed body rose-colored glass is entirely carved with floral reliefs, like antique porcelain, with a gradient that deepens toward the shoulders. It rests on a transparent base decorated with painted flowers in shades of pink and magenta, reminiscent of a floral Toile de Jouy print, which gives the piece its updated vintage charm.
The centerpiece remains his white corolla-shaped hood, with wavy edges like a blooming flower revealing a pink center, resting on a thin engraved gold collar. It looks like a peony blooming at the top of the bottle. The overall design perfectly captures the fragrance: tenderness, sweetness, and the scent of petals, with a finish that far exceeds its price point.
Alex Lee, the perfumer behind Petra Viola
Petra Viola was created by the perfumer Alex Lee, one of the perfumers with whom Lattafa regularly collaborates on its most ambitious launches. This is one of the strengths of the Emirati brand: entrusting its creations to renowned professional perfumers, which is evident in the composition of the fragrances—far more sophisticated than their price would suggest.
In Petra Viola, the beauty of the fragrance lies in its balance: blending a bold cotton candy note with powdery violet and fresh flowers without making the overall scent feel overwhelming requires true mastery. The woody, musky base—discreet yet present—is what holds all this sweetness together.

Main chords
Performance & sensations
Petra Viola starts off strong with its violet-raspberry duo—the most sparkling and striking phase—before settling into its floral cotton-candy heart. The fragrance then gains in softness what it loses in sillage, ending with a woody, musky caress close to the skin. As is often the case with sweet, powdery compositions, the trail clings well to hair and scarves, where the violet lingers for a long time.
This is a fragrance that’s easy to wear during the day: its softness makes it approachable, and its playful character draws compliments rather than stares. It’s perfect for spring and fall; in winter, its sweet, indulgent notes become even more enveloping, while in the height of summer, it’s best to apply it sparingly to keep the sweetness in check.
Petra Viola de Lattafa FAQ
What is the difference between Petra Viola and Petra de Lattafa?
Petra Viola is the flanker to Petra, featuring the same stunning sculpted bottle in a pink version. As for the fragrance itself, Petra Viola takes a softer, more powdery direction, centered on the violet-cotton candy duo, whereas the original strikes a different note. If you liked Petra, Viola is its sweetest and most romantic variation.
Is Petra Viola by Lattafa very sweet?
The cotton candy note is definitely present, but Petra Viola leans toward a light, airy sweetness rather than a syrupy one: powdery violet, lily of the valley, and jasmine add freshness, while the sandalwood-cedar-musk base provides structure to the whole. It’s closer to a sweet cloud than to thick caramel.
Who is Petra Viola de Lattafa intended for?
For lovers of soft yet striking women’s fragrances: those who adore rich violet notes, powdery sillage, and compositions that draw compliments. Its playful character also makes it a beautiful first oriental-floral fragrance—or a gift that’s sure to be a hit, thanks to its flower-shaped bottle.
What's the best season to wear Petra Viola?
Petra Viola is at its best in the spring and fall, when the cool air brings out its powdery violet notes and tempers its sweetness. It remains very pleasant in the winter, when its cotton-candy scent takes on a cozy quality; in the height of summer, one or two sprays are enough.
