"Low Tide" (Excerpt)
Most aquatic scents smell like a hotel pool; Raqm smells like the shoreline. The opening note is sea salt on the skin, mineral and crystalline, where others pour synthetic blue, and whips it with a ginger a crisp breeze that stings like sea spray. From the very first minutes, the setting is that of a real beach, just as the tide has gone out.
The heart walks on the exposed rocks: a algae green and briny, a rare note that gives the marine scent its botanical authenticity, intertwined with a vetiver earthy, with roots that smolder slightly beneath the salt. Then the tide reveals the seabed: a cedar as dry as driftwood, a oak moss Dark and damp, the chypre scent clings to the rocks. It lasts eight hours and leaves a strong trail: the tide is slowly rising.
This attention to the realism of materials is the brand's signature style: at Nusuk, where you can explore the entire Nusuk Collection In the store, the Oriental heritage is expressed through bold and generous designs; Raqm embodies its most maritime aspect, proving that Dubai knows how to view the sea in ways beyond just postcards.

Bottle design
The bottle captures the sea in glass: a glacier-blue body crisscrossed by waves carved in relief, like a wave frozen in solid form, featuring Raqm’s Arabic calligraphy and Latin capital letters on the facade. At the top, a blue ribbed hood With a silver border and a metallic foam crest, it complements the silver base of the stand.
The object is as fresh as its juice: pale blue, silver, movement. On the shelf, it brings the tide into the room, and the wave of glass catches the light at every hour of the day.

Performance & sensations
The initial votes from the Fragrantica community celebrate uniqueness: 4.5 out of 5, to be confirmed as reviews come in, with lasts about 8 hours and a strong wake, a fragrance profile for a water sport—a category that’s usually understated: the intense concentration and the chypre-cedar-moss base note are a game-changer.
His kingdom is the big day : summers, springs, seasides, and sweltering cities where its salt refreshes better than a citrus fruit. Two sprays set the tone for the day; a true outdoor blend, it’s as easy to share as a day at the beach. And when fall arrives, its oak moss allows it to transition seamlessly without missing a beat.
Nusuk Raqm FAQ
What does Raqm mean?
The number, in Arabic, calligraphied in gold letters on the bottle: a minimalist and mysterious name, like a model identified by its workshop number rather than a slogan. A laboratory-inspired elegance that suits this signature fragrance perfectly: no flashy promises, just a reference—and the fragrance itself to do the talking.
How can a perfume smell like salt?
Pure salt has no distinct scent: the sea salt note is an artistic reconstruction, built on mineral facets—slightly amber-tinged and damp—that evoke skin after a swim and sea spray dried on the rocks. When done well, as it is here, it creates that crystalline sensation that truly adds a salty edge to the other notes: the ginger in Raqm seems as fresh as if it were caught that very day.
What role does seaweed play in perfumery?
Pure plant-based iodine: seaweed absolute, a rare and powerful ingredient, smells of low tide, sea green, almost like a seashell, and is used sparingly because it leaves such a strong impression. It is this ingredient that distinguishes realistic aquatic scents from synthetic ones: a single drop of seaweed, and the beach comes to life. In Raqm, blended with earthy vetiver, it forms the most authentically marine heart note on the shelf.
Who is Nusuk?
