Lord of Flames: Shadow Kiss
Unisex leathery summer eau de parfum · lemon, wild chamomile, osmanthus, iris root, amber, earthy notes, iris butter, leather, and Madagascar vanilla
"Shadow's Kiss" from the Lord of Flames collection: golden citrus notes reminiscent of sun-ripened mango, a powdery iris with couture elegance, and a base of iris butter, leather, and bourbon vanilla.
Volaré's Sunset: golden citrus, iris, and leather
From the Lord of Flames collection by the Emirati fashion house Volaré, each piece explores a different intensity of the flame—and *Shadow Kiss* embodies its golden hour. The opening sparkles with lemon sunny, softened by the’wild chamomile oil with its grassy, honey-like notes and by the’osmanthus, this Asian flower with notes of apricot and leather. The result is a sense of sun-ripened exotic fruit, almost like a juicy mango, which is what makes it so alluring at first.
The heart then shifts into the world of fashion: the iris root reveals its powdery, makeup-like side, warmed by the’amber and anchored by earthy notes very natural, like a forest floor after the rain. It is this contrast between sunshine and powder that defines the fragrance’s character: the brightness of the fruit against the restraint of the iris.
The base finally reveals the true luxury of this formula: the iris butter, one of the most expensive ingredients in perfumery, enveloped in a leather accord elegant and with a Madagascar vanilla Warm and woody, never sweet. The producer describes it as a radiant longevity, and this foundation of fixatives proves him right: the shadow’s kiss lingers.
Shadow Kiss joins our store's other star product, Hibiscus Majesty : Where the tropical flower bursts into full bloom, the kiss of shadow nurtures the golden warmth of the late afternoon. Two complementary temperaments, the same high standards for materials.

You can't miss it on a shelf: a saffron orange lacquer with slanted shoulders, topped with a domed gold hood with a mirror finish. The’cream-colored label embossed with snake scales features Volaré’s emblem—a bird—and the title of the work in all caps, like an invitation card.

Performance & sensations
The company announces a radiant longevity, and the formula backs this up: iris butter, leather, and vanilla are among the most persistent fixatives in perfumery—a base that carries the fragrance well beyond half a day and leaves a lasting scent on collars and scarves. The fragrance unfolds in three distinct phases: a zesty lemon-chamomile burst sparkles during the first hour, powdery amber iris takes center stage in the middle of the day, and then a velvety leather-vanilla blend settles close to the skin until evening. The scent trail remains subtle: you’re noticed when someone gets close, not from across the room.
Its true strength lies in its versatility: the fruity top notes make it delightful in the spring and summer, while the iris-leather-vanilla base notes give it the perfect character for cool evenings. Two to three sprays are enough to last the day; during a heat wave, apply it to your clothes to enjoy the golden top notes without weighing down the base.
Volare's "Lord of Flames: Shadow Kiss" FAQ
What does the Lord of Flames Shadow Kiss perfume smell like?
Shadow Kiss evokes the scent of the setting sun: a golden citrus opening where lemon, wild chamomile, and osmanthus create a sensation of ripe exotic fruit, a heart of powdery, amber-tinged iris with earthy notes, followed by a base of iris butter, leather, and Madagascar vanilla. The result: sunny, powdery, and velvety—warm without being sweet.
Which perfume is Lord of Flames Shadow Kiss a dupe for?
Perfume enthusiasts immediately recognize it as a famous Parisian niche fragrance: a cult eau de parfum with juicy mango and golden leather notes, created by an independent perfumer at the helm of his own exclusive house and sold for around 200 € per golden bottle. Shadow Kiss captures that fruity-leathery warmth with its own powdery take on iris: the sunshine of the niche world, without the plane ticket.
What is iris butter in perfumery?
It is the concrete obtained from iris rhizomes that have been dried for several years and then distilled: one of the most expensive raw materials in the industry, typically reserved for high-end perfumery. It provides that creamy, powdery, and slightly woody texture that gives Shadow Kiss its velvety finish—a true luxury at this price point.
What do the name "Shadow Kiss" and the snake on the box mean?
Lord of Flames is a Volaré series consisting of several installments (Pink Bite, Venom Infernal, Immortal…), each exploring a different facet of fire and venom. Shadow Kiss, the «kiss of shadow,» is the more subdued version: a seduction that captivates by surprise, embodied by the cobra engraved on the orange and black marbling of the case.
How long does the Lord of Flames Shadow Kiss fragrance last?
The brand describes it as radiant, and the composition reflects this: an eau de parfum concentration with a base rich in long-lasting fixatives—iris butter, leather, vanilla—that linger on the skin well beyond half a day and persist on clothing. The scent trail, meanwhile, exudes an intimate elegance: a subtle aura rather than a public declaration.
